DMC plans to release an electric version of DeLorean in 2013
The slogan “Back to the Future” is so suitable for the new DeLorean!
DeLorean Motor Company (DMC) has released only one car in its history – DeLorean. The one, but which one! The only model showed up in the cult film “Back to the Future”, thus automatically became the dream of every second boy (in the late 80s – early 90s, I also dreamed of a fantasy vehicle of Dr. Emmett Brown).
Anyone who knows the subject, that the future of DMC was sad. I will not go into details (if you’re interested, details can be found in Wikipedia), but just in few years after production began, the company ceased to exist.
In 2008, the production of DeLorean was renewed by DMC Texas, which was firstly involved in small-scale production of new cars (about 20 cars a year) and the restoration of old ones. And, recently DMC announced plans to start production of electric version of the DeLorean!
It’s now known that the development of electric vehicle go together with Epic EV company. It is expected that the DeLorean gets 260 hp electric motor that can accelerate the car to 200 km / h!
Despite the fact that the DMC car can not fly and travel through time, its price will be about 100,000 $.
