History of the world’s first car
1885 – Everyone who owns a car and has been already able to evaluate all its advantages needs to know exactly this date. In this year, presently a famous engineer Karl Benz patented the world’s first car that runs on gasoline.
Of course, any invention in a global sense of phenomenon could not be created by hands of one person. Among the co-authors of Charles Benz can be named another 400 engineers and inventors who worked on different parts of the car and even created their own self-propelled machines. And Karl Benz was destined to become such an anonymous co-author as his car did not receive recognition in 1885 and was on the shed on a long renovation. But the case disposed and a woman intervened in the business of the great inventor.
It was in 1888. The horse-drawn carts traveled on the roads, Siegfried Marcus patented his four-wheel vehicle, and three-wheeled cart with gasoline engine, created by Karl Benz, was gone … there were three kidnappers, Karl Benz’s wife Bertha and two sons. Unbeknownst to her husband, she decided to make a trip to Pforzheim.
The journey was not easy, belts on brakes constantly abraded, chains flew, gasoline, which at that time was impossible to buy anywhere except in hardware stores, quickly came to an end. Nevertheless, the family was able to get to town, where was met by a crowd of onlookers.
This minor event from the point of view of the world history has been so run-flat pebble from the mountain, which caused an avalanche. Bertha with her sons and a car appeared on the pages of press, and Carl and his work were noticed.
Three-wheeled self-propelled wagon of Karl Benz is the first car in the world according to official sources. Nevertheless, both before and after there were many inventors who had worked on different nodes of machinery and who had upgraded cars. Let us render the same tribute to them.
